Solgar® Astaxanthin 5 mg contains Astaxanthin, a type of carotenoid, a natural pigment found in many foods.

Carotenes are mainly found in fruits and vegetables, with beta-carotene found in those that are dark orange or green in color. Astaxanthin imparts a bright red-orange color to lobster, salmon and certain seaweeds.

As some diets do not include a range of fruits and vegetables, it is helpful to take a supplement to achieve adequate levels of carotenoids.
